Support Marsi Shapiro-Markowitz in running the NYC Half-Marathon in support of NATAL
I am excited to announce that I will be running the 2024 NYC half-marathon on March 17th!
I am partnering with the non-profit organization NATAL, Israel's Trauma and Resiliency Center. For 25 years, NATAL has been delivering critical mental health services to victims of trauma due to war and terror in Israel. After October 7th, treatment post-trauma and rape has seen an unprecedented surge in demand. The mission of NATAL has never been more vital.
The NYC half-marathon takes place every year in March, which is Women’s History month. I am running this year in honor of the heroines in Israel – all the mothers, sisters, activists, survivors and soldiers leading the war efforts in the field, at home and in the fight for justice.
I also dedicate this run to resilient females in my life. To my grandma, who backed me in making the most difficult decision of my life, despite it going against her traditional female upbringing. To my Aunt Randy, who showed me there is no limits to the strength of a wife and mother when advocating for her loved ones. To my Aunt Risa, who, in doing her own inner work, has inspired me to break through my own barriers. To my Aunt Jackie, who showed grace, dignity and courage in her final moments. To my friend Jenny, a fierce business woman, incredible mother, devoted wife and now and forever a cancer survivor. To my Mama who always believed in my truth and never wavered in support. And to my daughter, who inspires me daily to seek my best life, you come from a strong line of resilient women – always believe in yourself.
Please join me in supporting NATAL and its efforts to help Israel heal and rebuild.
